I’m ‘c764dc33737’): I searched this forum and didn’t find any attempts to increase Google sales that I saw (I think I know why, but recently). I have a second device, not the one I’m going to have today on the visiting forum. This person has both Windows and 7, Windows 8.1.
An older computer will run very old DOSbox games on Windows XP, so I decided to use the free avast offline installer. The second device will rarely actually be physically connected to the internet, but then I’ll probably have to find and publish the games myself.

Both of the standalone installers I tried were rejected by Windows XP/SP3 on an existing PC, citing that it was not a “valid Win32 file” (or similar statement). Use the term “application”. Interestingly, the AVG offline installer worked, even though DAS now says it expired December 1969, twelfth century. The IBM PC/X86 workstation was born exactly 17 years ago, and exactly seventeen years ago there was Windows 1.
Thought I might have preferred to find a specific thread about the Avast error situation since I use antivirus on that precious core system of mine. Maybe you could. You tell me what is better than yarn.
Do I need antivirus for Windows XP?
Windows is no longer supported by Microsoft. In such conditions, it is extremely important to add an appropriate anti-virus program. Such an anti-virus program should be lightweight, fast, and at the same time fully compatible with this old operating system.
P.S. I am editing this. I checked again what Google found and it seems to be mostly topics from 2008 onwards, some but most recently from 2013!
Thanks in advance
